Playa Hermosa of Puntarenas, Costa Rica was chosen like the seat for the World-wide one of Surf de Categoría Open (Greater) of year 2009.

Costa Rica was chosen between countries of great surf tradition as Brazil and South Africa .

The event is planned to be made of the 31 of Julio to the 8 of August of 2009 where they will invite representatives of 49 countries to compete in the match.
